I have longed to add a mud mask to our skin care line for quite some time now. I am happy to introduce to you this amazing Dead Sea Mineral Mud Mask!
Our Dead Sea Mineral Mud contains only three ingredients and is COSMOS approved and ECOCERT verified.
Dead Sea Mineral Mud is a natural mud harvested from the mineral rich Dead Sea, a small body of water in the Jordan Rift Valley nestled between Israel (to the East) and Jordan (to the West). Nearly 10 times saltier than the ocean, this salt lake is uninhabitable for plants and animals! The mud at the bottom of the sea absorbs the salt and minerals that are essential for skin health.
According to legends, the Queen of Sheba was the first historical figure to acknowledge the healing powers of the Dead Sea. Even Cleopatra traveled from Egypt to enjoy the healing powers of the Dead Sea and its mud.
When used topically, Dead Sea Mineral Mud accelerates the skin's detoxification process, draws out excess oil, tightens and exfoliates to remove dead skin cells. It is also a soothing agent for skin dryness, itchiness, redness and cracking. It is know to boost circulation and reduce inflammation.
When applied to your face/neck area it is common to feel tingling and warmth. It produces an internal heat and stimulates circulation. It gently draws out visible and invisible impurities such as dirt, dust, allergens and air pollution trapped within your skin. As the mud dries, you will feel a gently pulling action as it draws out excess oil, tightens and exfoliates to reveal a healthier layer of skin!
With hydrating and firming properties, Dead Sea Mud soothes itchiness and inflammation and enhances skin elasticity. It reduces the appearance of pores and smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This makes it a must have in our anti-ageing arsenal!
Direction for use: Dead Sea Mud can be applied directly to your face after it has been gently cleansed to removed makeup, oil and sweat. Washing your face before application also aids in opening your pores which allows the mud to deeply penetrate your skin. I highly recommend using our botanical facial steam prior to applying your mud mask to really open up those pores!
Apply a thin layer of mud evenly to your face using your fingertips with gentle upward strokes. I will often mist my face with an organic hydrosol to help the thick mud spread more easily! Avoid your delicate eye area. Leave mask on approximately 8-10 minutes. You don't want your mask to dry out totally as it will then begin to draw moisture from your skin. Talking, smiling or laughing should be avoided as the mud dries to prevent cracking your mask. Take caution to avoid applying the mud too thickly as it may not dry evenly (a little goes a long way). Once your mask has lightened in color and started to dry simply place a soaked and wrung lukewarm cloth on your face and allow it to soften the mask until it can be easily rinsed away with water without having to scrub your skin. Follow with your toner and moisturizing routine. While many individuals may notice immediate results after their use of the mud, it may take longer for others to see improvements in health and appearance, thus patience and consistent application are required in tandem with a healthy skin care regimen. Like all things; consistency is key.
Did you know this mud is also great for hair? Dead Sea Mud can be applied directly to wet strands and the scalp. Simply part the hair with a comb, then apply the mask to exposed areas of the scalp and smooth it over the hair. Keep this mask on for 10-20 minutes, thoroughly rinsing it out with a gentle shampoo without rigorously washing it out or massaging it in. Rinsing may need to be repeated to remove all mud residue from the hair and scalp. Pat the hair dry with a towel, then apply a conditioner or a carrier oil such as a few drops of organic Argan Oil to the ends. Enjoy your silky soft hair!
